FOLKSTYLE SEASON

This weekend is the beginning of the folkstyle season. For many of our young wrestlers this has been A LONG TIME coming! All the hard work over the past month and a half will be rewarded. We as a club couldn’t be more appreciative of the wrestlers and parents that chose to be a part of this club. This club is YOURS! If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to ask a veteran parent or board member.

POPLAR INVITATIONAL

When: Saturday, Feb. 22
Where: Poplar High School
Entry Fee: Paid by Club
Weigh-Ins: @ Practice on Thursday, FEB. 20..
Registration: Must confirm by Thurs. Feb. 20. Must get registration sticker and parent signature. Bring this to the tournament.
Check in: 7:00-9:00 A.M. On Sat. Feb. 22. Please arrive by 8:30 A.M.

PRACTICE WEEK

Mon. 2/17- NO PRACTICE
Tues. 2/18- 5:30 / 6:30
Wed. 2/19: NO PRACTICE
Thurs. 2/20: 5:30 / 6:30
Fri. 2/21: NO PRACTICE

TOURNAMENT WORKERS

For every tournament we are required to provide one adult referee, one pairer and table workers throughout the tournament day. We would really appreciate the cooperation between parents to help with working the table. If we work together and organize this, each parent shouldn’t have to spend more than an hour a day at the scoring table.
Please get in touch with me if you would like to start as a referee, pairer or table worker organizer. Getting involved as a pairer or referee can be very rewarding and is much appreciated.
Working the table is not difficult and you can be trained in a few short minutes. If you have any questions about this please let me know.

SPAGHETTI FEED / PIE AUCTION

When: Thurs., Feb. 27 6:00 P.M.
Where: Elks Club
What: Please bring 2 homemade pies and a dozen bars individually wrapped.
Why: This event helps fund GWC wrestlers with their out of state travel expenses. This fund also helps fund expenses for summer wrestling camp expenses.
