Parents,
First off, thank you so much for the outstanding spaghetti feed/pie auction! Our kids are SO fortunate to live in such a generous community. We’d like to thank all parents, volunteers, pie makers, wrestlers, Elks Club, donations and bidders that made this a record breaking night for these kids and the club. THANKS!
Great job by our Middle School aged kids @ Havre on their second place finish. We also took 3rd place at Miles City. Everyone did a great job at the mixer on Sunday. What a great week of wrestling!

HIGHLANDERS BRING HOME THE HARDWARE
The bitter cold and snow didn’t keep the young Glasgow Highlander wrestlers from bringing home some weekend hardware. Twenty eight young grapplers competed at the Miles City Invitational, highlighted by fourteen top three finishes. That was good enough to take home a third place team finish.
The older Highlanders competed at the Havre Middle School tournament with similar success. Five individual Champions and eleven top three finishes propelled the future Scotties to a second place team trophy.
The Highlanders will be competing at the Glendive Invitational and the Montana Middle School State Wrestling Championships in Lewistown next weekend.

Highlander Highlights- 2/24/14
Great weekend for our youngsters! We had 44 wrestlers compete this weekend and the coaches were very pleased with all the wrestlers. That is a great accomplishment. Keep up the good work.
We have a SUPER busy week this week. This email includes all info. in regards to this week. My computer PDF software crashed, so I was unable to make a flashy newsletter this week.
If your child has not gotten their raffle tickets into club Secretary Jodi Dix, please do that ASAP!
Many of the older kids will be heading to Havre for the Middle School tournament on Saturday and everyone else will be attending the Miles City Invitational. We also set up a Red/Blue practice with Wolf Point for this Sunday. This will give our fans/grandparents a chance to watch our kids compete without having to travel.
Weigh-ins for Miles City will take place at practice on TUESDAY and weigh-ins for Havre will commence on Thursday. There will NOT BE A YOUNG KIDS PRACTICE ON THURSDAY. An older kids practice will take place after school on Thursday, to accommodate the pie auction.
Our spaghetti feed / pie auction fund raiser will also take place this THURSDAY @ the ELKS 6:00 P.M. This is our biggest fund raiser of the year and helps with out-of-state competition and summer camp compensation. We encourage everyone to attend and invite your extended family and friends. The older kids will help serve the spaghetti and it should be a great time. If you have any questions, please let me know.
I would also like to encourage you to “like” our facebook page Glasgow “Highlanders” Wrestling Club. If you post your best action photos on our facebook page, it makes it a lot easier for me to pick through the best ones for the local media publications. It’s also another avenue to get important information reminders. We also have a twitter account @gwchighlanders and a youtube channel. If you would like to download some matches on our youtube channel, let me know and I’ll get you the login info.

TOURNAMENT WORKERS
For every tournament we are required to provide one adult referee, one pairer and table workers throughout the tournament day. We would really appreciate the cooperation between parents to help with working the table. If we work together and organize this, each parent shouldn’t have to spend more than an hour a day at the scoring table.
Please get in touch with me if you would like to start as a referee, pairer or table worker organizer. Getting involved as a pairer or referee can be very rewarding and is much appreciated.
Working the table is not difficult and you can be trained in a few short minutes. If you have any questions about this please let me know.
